On the slopes of Monte Mario, the area in which our bed and breakfasts are located, which we suggest in this section, there is the Foro Italico, which includes the famous Olympic stadium, the Stadio dei Marmi and the Tennis and Swim Stadium .
Within the Foro Italico (where home matches of Roma and Lazio football clubs are held) are also held several prestigious events such as the International Tennis Championships or Court of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000.
In the area of Monte Mario are also two of the most important modern hospitals in Italy: the Policlinico Gemelli (connected at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart) and San Filippo Neri.
Located between great parks and natural reserves on the one side and the river Tiber on the other, Monte Mario is probably Rome's most well connected area because of the rich public transport network, taxis and railways. Four railway stations are present in this area: "Roma Balduina" (from where you can take the bus lines 990, 997 and 999), "Roma Monte Mario" (the terminal of bus lines 46, 49, 911, 912, 913, 998 and 998L and stop af the buses 907, 991, 994, 997, 998, n6, 913 and C6), "Roma San Filippo Neri" (station of bus lines 546, 994 and 995 and bus stop 907, 991, 997, 998, n6, 916, 998L and C6) and "Appiano Proba Petronia" (bus stop of the 990 and 999). In these stations stop all the trains heading to Bracciano, Cesano and Viterbo from the station "Ostiense".
To get directly to the Olympic stadium from the center of Rome or from Termini station you will have to take the tram 2 from Piazzale Flaminio (Metro line A "Flaminio-Piazza del Popolo") untill the last stop at Piazza Antonio Mancini and cross the Ponte Duca D'Aosta on the Tiber, or from Via Ottaviano (line A metro station "Ottaviano-San Pietro and the Vatican Museums") you can take bus lines 32 or the 271 to Viale Paolo Boselli.
